Welcome to VCBC

VCBC is a non-profit association of finance professionals in venture capital firms. Through our events and website, we provide a forum for education and networking within this community of professionals.

VCBC began approximately 20 years ago as an informal gathering of venture capital CFOs and Controllers in Silicon Valley who met to discuss the different issues encountered in managing the finance function within a venture capital firm.

Today, our membership is over 350 strong, and represents over 225 venture capital firms from across the United States.

By sharing information at conferences, luncheons, and through our members-only website and emails, VCBC members are able to establish best practices for their firms by leveraging the accumulated knowledge and experience of their colleagues.

The VCBC members-only website allows members to participate in discussion forums, view and post job descriptions, create detailed surveys or quick polls for the group, and collaborate with other members via e-mail. In addition, members can access numerous documents such as: presentations and (beginning in 2006) recordings from VCBC events, a consolidated calendar of events, a directory of venture-related web sites, reports and service providers referred by their peers.

In addition, VCBC sponsors luncheons, seminars and social events, with approximately 3 to 5 events each year in the Palo Alto/Silicon Valley area and approximately 3 events each year in San Francisco and southern California.
